Number Four
Bush Flip Flopped on the 9/11 Commission. First he opposed it, then he supported it. First he opposed their recommendations, then he embraced them.
According to an article on FoxNews.com:
"Bush had opposed creating the commission and then opposed extending its life, and also had opposed having Rice testify in public. But he subsequently relented on all counts. McClellan said Bush "appreciates the job the commission is doing. He strongly supports the commission's important work."
Another article on FoxNews.com adds:
"He [Bush] first refused to speak to its members, then agreed only if Vice President Dick Cheney came with him."
Why the reluctance to let the Commission do its work? More importantly, why the need to have Dick Cheney hold his hand when he met with the Commission?
