Number Eight
Bush Flip Flopped on finding Osama Bin Laden. First he was committed to finding him, then he dropped that commitment.
According to an AP article:
"A week after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, Bush said he wanted Osama bin Laden "dead or alive." But he told reporters six months later, "I truly am not that concerned about him." He did not mention bin Laden in his hour-long convention acceptance speech."
Why would Bush change his position on finding Osama?
Was it perhaps because he failed to do so? Or was it because he wanted to shift attention to Iraq, even though 9/11 was perpetrated by Al-Qaeda and not by Saddam? Or was it both - that the reason he didn't catch Osama was that he diverted precious resources from Afghanistan to Iraq? Probably both.
How can this President claim to be committed to the War on Terror when he
has completely forgotten about getting Osama and Al-Qaeda because he
was distracted by an unnecessary war in Iraq?
